Father and Son Final Day on Gods River

DSCN0323I awakened to the rumble of thunder and raindrops dancing on the metal roof, 5:00 am and I decided to stay in bed a few more minutes, the downpour subsiding to a light refreshing drizzle. By 7:30 it was breaking and Al Keffen and son Darien from Innisfail, Alberta elected to spend their last day on the Gods River.  Upon their return they tried to convince me that they had been skunked; I didn’t buy a word of it – this father and son duo knew how to catch fish and fish they caught – over 30 feisty Brook Trout, loosing many in the fast water, but still managing to land 17!
