About Us

Old time friends reunited over the prospect of operating and owning a famous fly in fishing and hunting lodge. All are originally from Fairview, Alberta and have common ties to the oil industry, have worked together for years and shared the same old fashioned work ethic which enabled each to build their individual companies through the years. These businessmen are natural hosts and have a passion for fishing and hunting; all three have hunted in Africa, and absolutely love to fish.  Each was at a stage in their lives to take on a new challenge, enjoy life a bit more and get back to the wilderness they love, and so the adventure began in Manitoba, Gods Lake Haven, formerly known as Olafson's Gods Lake Lodge.

Gods Lake

Situated in the remote northeastern Manitoba, Gods Lake fishery is legendary for its grand slam of fish namely very large and numerous lake trout, abundant trophy northern pike, exceptional walleye and huge brook trout. Located at the north eastern end of the lake, Gods Lake Haven offers the finest and most sheltered fishing of the lake and arguably some of the finest freshwater fishing available in Canada, which is world renowned. Our lodge is located on a prime section of the lake where shallows meet main lake depths. Our guests won't have to spend all day running around in search of fish. Most of our Trophies are caught within a short boat ride of the lodge. How good is our fishing? 100+ fish days are common. Walleyes typically run up to 28" with a few over 30". Hundreds of pike over 40" are caught every year. Lakers are usually in the 8-15 lb range with fish over 30 lbs in the mix. For a special bonus - take a day trip to Gods River and fish for Brook Trout that average 18-20" and top out at 30".

The setting of Gods Lake Haven is unique, situated at a former Hudson's Bay Company trading post, on a sheltered, scenic bay on Gods Lake. The Archives of Manitoba have records of the Hudson Bay Company's journal posts, correspondence books and accounting records dating from 1825 which give a glimpse of the day to day lives of those who settled almost 200 years ago.
